About the event

Western Solent Seabird Cruise

Join the team at Wild New Forest Guided Tours for a four-hour cruise on board Lazy Daze, exploring the spectacular seabird colonies of the western Solent and Isle of Wight.

The trip will include passage past the busy tern and gull colonies of the western Solent before rounding the dramatic Needles Headland, where we will take in the stunning coastal scenery. From here, we will explore the impressive cliff-nesting seabird colony on the western Isle of Wight.

The cliffs are home to large numbers of Common Guillemot and Razorbill, with smaller numbers of Fulmar, and occasionally Kittiwake and Gannet.

While at sea, we will also watch for feeding gulls and terns, which can gather in spectacular numbers when shoals of whitebait are pushed to the surface by hunting bass — often providing exciting and dynamic wildlife encounters.

As always, we will observe wildlife from a safe and responsible…
